The sequel to one of the most impressively bad slasher flicks ever, this is the tale of a group of, that’s right, camp counselors who are being stalked by, yep, a killer who was wronged by campers years ago. He wears a mask and had a parent who worked at the camp. If that’s not bad enough, this was released in the UK as “Trevor vs Jason” because one victim years ago was named Jason. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the makers of this film are a flattering bunch of unimaginative plagiarists.

I watched the first one years ago because the boxcover was so crappy, it showed a hockey-masked killer with a chainsaw in his left hand, while the description told of how he had a chainsaw for a right hand, and unless my memory is bad, there was only a chainsaw used for one killing in the actual movie. Yep, that’s professionalism. The boxcover on this one is no less misleading, the killer is shown with a hockey mask and a hook in his hand. The killer in the movie wears a featureless mask and there’s not a lot of hooks in the film. If any.

However, this was a surprisingly entertaining flick. No originality whatsoever, but in the slasher genre I’m not sure that’s so bad. There’s an expectation of some imitation, I think. Or at least there’s more acceptance of it.

“Before they knew it Trevor was at the bottom of a ravine, half-dead, with his face half-eaten by hungry birds.”

How the fuck does something like that happen before you know it? I’ll tell ya, I’ve had some dealings with ravines and angry birds, and while dangerous, if you end up at the bottom of the former with the latter snacking on your mug, people will, I’m confident, be aware of what’s happening. I mean, if you don’t notice a bird pecking away at an obnoxious kid’s face, maybe you’ve got a learning disorder or something. Anyway, that shit really cracked me up, it’s a gem.

Full of holes like police who aren’t aware of police procedure, there’s still no glaring weak spot in this movie. It’s not good, but there’s nothing bad about it at all. Add to that Tiffany Shepis being unclothed more than thrice, and you’ve got a slasher that will fit the bill if you’re looking for a new slasher with an old-school flavor.

It’s no secret that I think nudity should be common in horror movies, even more so in slashers. It’s nearly a rule that there will be graphic kills and at least a boob or two. Nudity is always good, but in a slasher it’s nearly imperative. Another plus is that in this film, the chick I wanted to get naked was the one that did. It’s almost always the wrong one.
