What do you get when you put Ben Stiller in any movie? It is usually a lot of laughs, and one great movie. This time he missed the mark with a movie that will have you snickering at times, but doesn’t really deliver the doubled over laughs that you might want from one of his movies. Remember Meet the Parents, Something About Mary.
Those are some tough movies to follow. We meet Zoolander as his career as a model is red hot, or so we think. There is a little competition from a new and upcoming model, and he is feeling the heat. He has been developing a new look called Magnum that will keep him at the top of the game. Modeling agencies the world over should be suing this film because they can’t be as stupid as they are portrayed.
The ruler of Malaysia decides that he wants to improve the workers situation in his country. Better jobs, more pay, etc. This cannot be allowed because that is where you get the really good low cost manufacturing. So a plan is plotted to get rid of him by using a model. They are easy to manipulate you see. Will Ferrell plays as the bad guy who wants cheap labor.
He takes control of Zoolanders mind, and preps him for the assasination. A roving report finds out what is going on and tries to provide whatever help she can, while falling for Zoolander.
