Karen and Jamie are on a bicycle trip from Kentucky to Michigan, don’t ask me why, they never really say. They also claim to be brother and sister, but it doesn’t seem to stop them from exploring how each others genitalia seems to work. After a hard day peddling down the road, they decide to camp out at a local state park. It is here they meet Eben. Eben is your classic hillbilly stereotype, he has his overalls, shot gun, moonshine and great lines like “That thar is my bear trap.” or my personal favorite “In these parts it is the woman’s job to go ‘en warm da’ bed.”

Jamie saves Eben’s daughter’s life, and in return Eben offers him and Karen a good home cooked meal. So they all pack up and head to Eben’s shanty, and this is where we meet his other child, William. William’s a twenty something male who is missing most of his front teeth, hisses like a cat and lives in a dog box. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he likes to kill and bite the heads off of anything he can catch.

Mainly chickens and gophers, but Eben said he went after a badger one time. On a personal note, you have got to be one bad ass sumbitch to try and bite the head off a badger.

We soon learn that Eben sometimes has trouble controlling his special little boy, what a surprise. We also find out that William killed his mother and has made many attacks on Eben and his sister Beth. Now at this point most regular folk would forget about dinner and head the hell back home. Not Jamie and Karen, they agree to stay the night. Can ya guess what happens? That’s right baby, it is William-palooza 1988 and there is not going to be anyone safe.

I really liked this movie. William was a very good psycho and looked as creepy and nasty as a human could get without having makeup. Matted hair, filthy clothes and always a mouthfuls of drool, he was truly a greasy killer.

There are great scenes of him stalking Karen in the cabin that are quite scary as he seems to always be peering in a window or reaching through a crack in the walls. Karen, through out the film, has problems with her breasts being covered. Also while Karen is washing up at the lake, William gets a peak at the very rare “Trimmed Beaver” which was a rare animal to see in the eighties. Although not a lot of killing there is some very decent gore involving William and a bunch of fish hooks.
