The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)

First let me start by saying Steve Carell is a very funny man. He has stolen the show in several films he has played in as bit parts Bruce Almighty, Anchorman, Bewitched to name a few. Now he is saddled with the responsibility of being the lead man, and boy does he deliver. In the 40 year old virgin Steve plays as Andy Stitzer. Andy is a typical All American male with one problem. He’s still a virgin at the age of 40. It is this one thing in his life that he tries to ignore (we are shown from the opening shots of the film just how funny that can be).

It isn’t until his co-workers discover his plot that he decides to change his fate. With the addition of these friends on his team, Andy goes from bad situation to bad situation, and the audience is laughing the whole time. I write this review with a warning though. In my own opinion I don’t think this film is viewable if you have a problem with excessive cursing, and sexual references. One reason for including this warning is that I’ve heard other reviews that have said the movie was “cute, and heartwarming”. While this might be the case it gives the wrong impression of the film as a whole.
