Short Summary
Based on a best selling novel by Susanna Moore, this psychological thriller includes Meg Ryan as a witness to a murder with many twists and turns. Throw in two questionable homicide detectives and Ryan plays a very confused woman who just keeps putting herself in the wrong place at the right time.
Review
This is more of an erotic thriller than anything else. You’ll see a side of Meg Ryan that you have never seen before, including her front and back side, but this role would have been better filled by Shannon Tweed or some other B-movie, soft-core porn actress. This movie has an interesting plot, but the sexual tension and the internal conflict that Ryan’s character faces makes this movie almost uncomfortable to watch. Although, you certainly could not predict the ending.
On a side note, it is ironic, to say the least, that Jennifer Jason Leigh plays a character who is decapitated seeing that her father, Vic Morrow, was decapitated during the making of Twilight Zone: The Movie. Kind of scary if you ask me.
